Description/Blazon

A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure (Cobalt Blue), a saltire Or, overall a dragon rampant Vert breathing flames Proper. Across the bottom is a Dark Blue scroll doubled and inscribed with "STABILIS VICTORIA" in Gold letters.


Symbolism

Cobalt blue and golden yellow are the colors associated with the Army Chemical Corps.  The saltire symbolizes strength.  Since World War I, Chemical Soldiers have fought courageously in every conflict across the globe.  The dragon, a fearsome and legendary creature, refers to the Regimental Chemical Corps' coat of arms.  It is breathing fire to highlight the fire and destruction of chemical warfare.


Background

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 15 August 2002. The coat of arms was amended to modify the symbolism on 24 May 2023.

Crest. That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Kentucky Army National Guard:  From a wreath Or and Azure (Cobalt Blue) within a garland of trumpet vine clasped hands clothed at the wrists all Proper.

 

Motto.  STABILIS VICTORIA (Support the Victory).
